Crisis Ministry & Chaplaincy
Presence, care, and spiritual support in times of crisis
The J.W. Alexandre Center provides chaplaincy-informed support for communities and institutions facing emergencies, disasters, and humanitarian crises—offering compassionate presence, prayer, and guidance alongside evidence-based risk and resilience insight.
How we serve
Chaplaincy support that meets the moment
Crisis ministry is a ministry of presence—showing up with calm, compassion, and spiritual care when life is disrupted by disaster, violence, displacement, illness, or loss. Our approach is grounded in Christian faith, informed by professional chaplaincy training, and delivered with cultural humility across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Lusophone communities worldwide.
Areas of support
Crisis ministry, chaplaincy, and related services
Support is available for individuals, families, congregations, institutions, and response teams. Services may be provided in-person (where feasible) or remotely, depending on context and safety.

Pastoral care in illness, grief, and trauma
Compassionate accompaniment for those facing serious illness, bereavement, moral injury, or traumatic events—supporting meaning-making and hope.
Support for humanitarian and security contexts
Care for responders and affected communities in complex environments, including displacement and humanitarian operations, with attention to dignity and resilience.

Invitations to speak or train on crisis chaplaincy, disaster risk reduction (Sendai Framework), and the intersection of faith, ethics, and public service.
